The Mississippi Beach
Where is all the water? I’ve written about low water levels before here where you can also visibly see how these record low levels are affecting communities along the river – but how about where there are no communities? Here is a view of a beautiful stretch of the Mississippi in between river towns, and it really does look like mile after mile of uninhabited beaches! Not that I would be interested in swimming in those muddy waters especially not in the temperatures we’ve been experiencing – close to and sometimes over 100 degrees! While working along the river you always see land, sometimes you can reach out and touch it, but mostly it’s just softly and unassuming off in the distance like it was on this day.
